WCWV - The Nicholas County Grizzlies were looking for a little revenge this past Friday Night when the Logan Wildcats were in town in week 2 of the West Virginia High School Football Season. Last year the Wildcats were the only team to give Nicholas County a loss, costing the Grizzlies a chance for the coveted undefeated season. This year Nicholas County is admittedly rebuilding and Logan is looking to build on the success of last year.

So, Friday night it was on the table, a chance to correct the wrong done to the Grizzlies last year. However, a headed running attack for Logan was standing in the way. The Grizzlies were down 19 - 0 at halftime but with the ball control offense of the Wildcats it just as well could have been 100 - 0. Logan had amassed well over 100 yards rushing in the first half on their way to 340 yards of total offense. By the time it was over, Joseph Street had 132 yards on the ground and his running partner David Toney had 125.

Nicholas County just couldn’t get anything going against the much bigger Wildcats. For the game the Grizzlies totaled only 15 yards rushing and 57 yards passing. Without the offense being able to sustain a drive of any kind, the defense just had to spend to much time on the field against the brutal running attack of the Wildcats. The Wholesale Auto Parts Player of the Game was Outside Linebacker Drew Moore. When it was all said and done the Grizzlies were on the short end of things, a 25 - 0 loss.
